This is an interior from the Scottish National Museum in Edinburgh. I don't know what their marketing tag line is, but it should be "With a Building This Gorgeous, We Could Put Fossilized Crap on Display and You'd Come!"
The structure behind the kids is a Victorian drinking fountain, rescued from some Scottish street. Those were the days!
I love museums, but I'm particularly fond of museums that have exhibits that let you examine different types of artifacts and material culture to make linkages with each other. It helps you really understand natural history.
Here's Dolly, the first cloned mammal, staring down my kids. I tried to explain cloning, but it just doesn't translate. They didn't seem to care since they were too busy doing the genetic analysis touch-screen game.
Olivia's playing with a wind machine while Helena does an interpretive modern dance.
Which is my way of saying, "Here's a photo of my kid fooling around in public."
