Apres Moi, le Deluge

England's been rainy lately.  But this follows a dry spell, so the ground is so dry that it won't soak up water.  All the water that doesn't soak into the ground find it's lowest spot and floods rivers.  Here's a view of the River Ouse (unfortunately pronounced "ooze") in York.

Looking at this, I just felt terrible for the pub owners at right.  They're going to have to redo everything.  Their whole business will need replacement--chairs, tables, appliances, everything.

At left, you can see the tops of the chains used to keep people out of the river.  They're nearly covered with water.
